Mike Mazza Photo shoot

What's going on everybody.

I just finished a photoshoot for a good friend of mine, Mike Mazza. Mike is a Muay Thai fighter and he invited me to his studio to photograph him. He is extremely busy with training for his upcoming fight on June 17th, so we had to do the shoot during one of his classes. Luckily the guys were understanding and a few of them even had the oppurtunity to participate.

The photos turned out to be really good considering the amount of time we had. Thanks Mikey and good luck on your fight.

I always have a blast doing photoshoots because each person has a different personality and it is a challenge for me to help them release their emotions, and expressions through their face's and bodies. Each time I photograph I learn something new and nothing beats learning. I can't wait until the next shoot.

The Mayan - Andreia & Martin

I just came back from Mexico where I had the pleasure of working with Andreia & Martin. While down there I realized just how good the perks of this job could be. I spent a week in a beautiful country, met a great group of people, and I was able to do something I really enjoy doing.

My father Bert and I arrived on Friday April 18 and we took out the video camera and the SLR for a small engagement shoot and love walk. The pictures turned out amazing. Tuesday, April 22 was the day of the wedding and what a beautiful day it was.

This was the first destination wedding that I have done, and I am certain it will not be the last. When you leave the country there are so many new locations to work with, simple things which may not seem beautiful here turn out to be gorgeous when your in another country. The colours become sharper and your creativity reaches new heights.

I want to thank Andreia, Martin and their friends and families. Everyone was a pleasure to work with and I am definitely going to miss all of you.

The pictures came out great for Andreia & Martin and we are in the process of putting together their video. I will post a highlight video as soon as I finish it, but in the meantime check out a few of my favourite pics from the Mayan. You can also check out Bert's blog for a few of his favourite pics.

DJ M-Kutz!!!

What is up everybody...

First, I wanna thank everyone who has sent me a comment on facebook or contacted me in regards to my blog. It means a lot. I hope you keep coming back to check cuz I keep postin'!

Second, today I did a photoshoot for my buddy Dj M-Kutz. We photographed @ The Vault in Woodbridge. The store features exclusive collectors shoes, shirts, zip up jackets, hats and more. It's an awesome store. Thanks to the guys there for letting us use their venue for photos I am happy with how the shots came out.

DJ M-Kutz is the 3 time Toronto DMC champion, he is incredibly talented. He asked me to do his photoshoot because he is about to launch his new website which will be up and running shortly. DJ M-Kutz is getting his name out in the club scene. He has DJ'd @ various venues in the GTA and is constantly being called for shows. If you're interested in his work don't hesitate to contact me or visit his website as soon as its running.

Maternity

About 16 months ago I photographed my mother while she was pregnant with my sister Sofia. The picture came out beautiful. For my mothers birthday I framed it and I blew it up for her and now it's hanging in my sisters room. After taking these shots my mothers sister in law called me up and asked me to take pictures of her while she was pregnant with her beautiful baby boy Adam.

I would like to thank Kristina & my mother for allowing me to photograph them during this beautiful stage in their lives.

Photographing maternity is a new experience. Each woman is unique while pregnant, and they all possess a glow to them which makes them so gorgeous. I can't wait to take more maternity shots. If you know of anyone pregnant who wants some work done don't hesitate to contact me.

Summer of '07

Summer of 2007, definitely one I will remember forever.  I learned alot this summer about myself, my interests, my talents.  I met new people and I began to realize just how much I enjoyed capturing special moments through the lens of a camera.  

I photographed 2 baptisms this summer.  I photographed an adorable baby boy, Joseph Da Silva.  He was a delight to work with.  I captured some beautiful shots on his special day.  I would like to thank the entire family for their hospitality especially his parents Joey and Amanda.  Here are a few pics from the baptism.

I also had the pleasure of photographing my sisters baptism. Her pictures start after the 4th picture on the page. Sofia is now 13 months old and she gets cuter by the day. The day was fun, but exhausting considering I offered to do both video and photography for my sister. It was difficult lugging around a video camera on one arm and a digital camera on the other. But the hard work payed off, and we have some beautiful pictures from her baptism and I am in the process of editing the video. I should be posting a clip from it sometime in the near future.

Welcome to my blog, my name is Julian Moniz.  

I figured the best way to start my blog is to tell you a little bit about myself, what I do and what this blog will be about.

First and foremost I am a photographer.  I do it all, mostly weddings, special events, clubs, maternity shots, and more.   I love to dab in all types of photography.  

I started doing weddings 4 years ago with my father bert moniz who owns a successful video & photography company called bertmoniz video & photography.  He has been in business for 22 years and every year we keep getting better.  I started with a video camera and then moved on to photography.  I enjoy both.  Check out our website.  http://www.bertmoniz.com
