Fershops // Austin, Texas

I just got back from Austin, Texas where I attended a workshop featuring Fer Juaristi, an incredible father, husband, friend, photographer and human being from Mexico...he was a pleasure to learn from.  Fer YOU ROCK!!!

I like going to the occasional photography workshop because it's an escape from what you are used to...it expands your imagination, plus you get to meet some awesome people.  Y'all know me, I love to travel, so any excuse to get out of the city for a bit is a good excuse to me.

Here are a couple of photos from the workshop...Stay tuned for some behind the scenes photos and some Austin, Texas photos...

The Story...

If I could describe my style...

I would say I am inspired by fashion, romance, intimacy, love and laughter but most of all...I love the story, a photo that says something to you...this is one of those images...

Tania + Oscar [Portugal Trash The Dress]

First allow me to say that it was tough to even narrow these down for the blog...they were all so absolutely incredible and each photo just took me back to the unbelievable experience I had down in Portugal...

This has been an incredible summer so far...I've had the pleasure of photographing some beautiful people, travelled the world and I know there is so much more to come in my life which I am so excited for...

Next...I was going to save the official blog post for the full wedding, however I can't wait...I love you guys way too much...I wrote this blog post in my *moleskin journal on the 6 hour bus ride back to the airport :)  I didn't want to forget how I felt about you guys and the entire experience at that very moment...

So here goes...

Not to long ago I returned from an amazing trip...I was walking through the streets and the beaches of the Algarve, Portugal, tattooing my body...

I was trashing a dress while the sun set on a secluded beach...

I was eating fresh fish straight from the Atlantic Ocean...

I was dancing, partying and learning a new language..."titash queqesh" (haha, there is no way I spelt that right)

I was travelling from city to city while dancing to "Papa Americano"...Visiting towns inside castle walls... and this is all thanks to 2 incredible people whom I can now call life long friends...

Tania + Oscar...

To top this incredible adventure off was this STUNNING wedding, with the most memorable cake cutting ceremony I have ever witnessed in my life...

Tania + Oscar...I want to thank you for inviting me into your lives, not just as a photographer but a friend.

I love you guys and your families...everyone welcomed me with open arms and I couldn't be more appreciative of these opportunities I have in my life...Thanks for giving me an experience I will remember for the rest of my life...

Here is to a beautiful trip and to new beautiful friendships...this includes you Diana + Kev...

I love all you guys

"Oi, Oi, Oi..."

"Viver" "Live Your Life"  (We most certainly did :))

ps.  This is just the Trash the dress shoot...The wedding will be posted at a later date :)

pps.  Comments are ALWAYS welcome :)

My First Trip to NYC aka. The Concrete Jungle!!!

The much anticipated blog post has finally arrived.

Several of you have been asking me when these photos would be going up and I personally could not wait to share my first time in NYC with you lovely people.  I have been extremely busy with school but now I am proud to announce that I am officially finished my post secondary education.  Life will truly be lived from here on out, that is a promise! (To me)

Now on to NYC...

The ride was long and rough...but I somehow managed to make it on only 2 hours of sleep.  (not recommended BTW) We arrived in the big city, but took a detour to Brooklyn to pick up what I initially went there for ... My brand new Canon 5D mkII, equip with my new 50mm f/1.2 and 16-35mm f/2.8 lenses!!! NYC is a perfect place to test out new gear :)

I went with 2 friends Amanda + Kev (they made sure I mentioned them...hi guys).  They told me I would have a tough time dealing with them throughout the trip, but they were fine, partially because I learned to tune them out :)  But seriously, they showed me the NYC ropes, as I was inexperienced.  Their main objective was to insure that I had a good time and that I took some stellar photos, which I will let you judge for yourself.  I would have been lost without you guys, so thank you very very much for introducing me to the big city which I have now fallen in love with.  This trip will never be forgotten.

Truth is the true appreciation of the city didn't kick in until a couple of hours before we left.  I didn't get to see close to as much as I wanted to, but that's ok because now it gives me more reason to keep going back...and each time I go, Roxy (the name I gave my camera this weekend) is coming along for the ride.

NYC is amazingly awesome and I look forward to sharing many more adventures with you from  there and around the world...simply because I want to see it all :) (and so does Roxy)

Enjoy the photos and be sure to check out the slideshow on the bottom as well.  Or CLICK HERE to view it in a seperate window.

I also have some photos posted from my facebook profile which Kevin uploaded.  Click Here.

LEAVE A COMMENT...ONE LUCKY PERSON WHO COMMENTS WILL WIN A FREE NYC PRINT :)  I am going to randomly select a name and I promise it will be legit.  Just leave your name (first and last) and your facebook contact if I don't already know you.

And if anyone is interested in purchasing a NYC photo, either up on this blog or from the slideshow CONTACT ME.  I will be printing out a few canvas' and Stand Out mounts for myself ASAP!!!
